Soil is a wonderful gift of nature to humankind, but limited, non-renewable and nonelastic resource. Past decades witnessed a considerable shrinkage in the soil due to unscrupulous increase in the urbanization and industrialization, Agricultural technologies that led to Green Revolution resulted in the degradation of this precious natureal rsource owing to over exploitation under intensive farming coupled with mis-management. The soil quality has under gone as serious damage leading to a decline in crop production and factor productivity. In the present book, entitled Management Soil Quality for Sustainable Agriculture, an attempt has been made to compile the information on concept and indicators of soil quality and its relevance in sustainable crop production. The book also embodies information on improving various parameters of soil quality. Few pages in the book on methods for assessing physcial, chemical and biological parameters of soil quality will be helpful in monitoring the status of soil health.
