This book is part of our First Steps series. Each section has drawings which are easily recognised by most young children. The work starts with number and recognition up to 5. This is extended to 10 and further as the children learn about the use of numbers in counting in every day situations including addition and subtraction, multiplication and division. Pupils learn to develop the language of numbers such as circle, bigger, smaller, equal to, more than, less than . . . Pupils learn to record numbers in order and use information to solve problems. Reading stories involving numbers helps, such as 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.'
