Decorated war hero Chase Huntsman is a camp caretaker living on the pristine shores of Lake Whatcom in the forests of northwest Washington. When a massive winter storm pounds the region, he is forced into action to save Desiree Chandler, the sole occupant of a runaway boat, just before the craft is smashed on the rocks. In the storms aftermath, Chase searches the wreckage and finds a valuable golden artifact left behind by the boats craftsman, who just happens to be an international fugitive who disappeared thirty years ago. The find propels Chase and Desiree on an adventure-laden treasure hunt that threatens to unmask an old and dangerous family secret.
