A retired couple receives the surprise of their lives when a beautiful rooster is suddenly dumped into their yard in town. As the rooster proudly walks back and forth and pecks in the grass for food, the couple worries the rooster will hurt them with his sharp spurs. After being awakened every morning with a loud cock-a-doodle-doo, the couple realizes the rooster is not going to wander away and leave them alone. As curiosity leads the wife to talk softly to the rooster, they soon develop a friendship and she fondly names him Apollo 2. But one day when Apollo 2s world is suddenly turned upside down, the couple must make a decision that changes everything.
