Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. IN accordance with the instructions we received, our aim has been to render the Preacher's Homiletical Commentary available as a Pulpit Encyclopaedia. The task as to size was somewhat formidable, and in several respects presented special difficulties. The work to be dealt with consisted of twenty-six volumes, with a total of no less than 1 pages, each volume being oftentimes written by several authors, upon widely different methods and in very varied styles.
