Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The corner tenement is now owned by the Southern Fertilizing Company, and the other two by Mrs. George S. Palmer, a daughter of Mr. Enders who built the block. The building was converted into a prison in 1861, and was used as such until the end of the war.
