The collection of weaves given, how ever, is complete enough for all ordinary purposes and con tains examples of those types in most frequent use and that are therefore Of more particular importance. While in some cases it may be found that none Of the weaves contained in the glossary exactly meet the requirements of a designer who wishes to produce a certain fabric, yet the weaves shown will often be of service in suggesting new ideas for the construction of a weave suitable for the cloth that it is desired to produce, or it may even be found that a slight alteration of some one of the weaves shown will so change its structure and the effect that it will produce in a fabric as to render it perfectly adapted to the purposes Of the designer.
