Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Judgment is therefore largely the theme here,though the end is grace. Sin has first to be manifested in order to be put away. Here again is an echo of Leviticus: it is the priest dealing with the leper. Ezekiel is emphasized for us as the priest-prophet, and the whole book is the expansion of the enjoined dealing with leprosy which Leviticus insists upon. Everything is in place here. It is in the presence of the glory of God that the condition is judged; and being plainly discovered, the glory leaves. The leper is thus put outside the camp. Yet this is not the end, for God hateth putting away, and if He does this, it is but for a time, until His dealing is effectual in the souls of His peo ple. This being found at the time of the end, the glory returns. It is noteworthy that it is the sanctuary in Israel which is seen to be de filed with the abominations of the people, and the book ends with the restored sanctuary and the divine wings brooding once more over the city, whose very name is now jehovah-shammah, Jehovah is there.
