Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Meantime Webster had removed, in 1798, from New York City to New Haven, placing the editorship of the newspapers in the hands of another, and soon afterwards disposing of his interest in them. From this time on he devoted his life entirely to literary work, publish ing in 1806 an octavo English dictionary, and in 1807 a Philo sophical and Practical Grammar of the English Language.
