They believed that Satan chose certain men among them as his agents to carry on his work. They believed that Satan was m'ustering his forces to get control of this world; and their endeavor constantly was to drive him from the earth. Witches, ghosts, fairies, gorgons, hydras, and chimeras dire were all realities at that time.
