Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. It would be more satisfactory if some of the incidents could have been more definitely located, and if the dates of others could have been given with greater accuracy, while many interesting transactions between the whites and Indians, which would add much to this narrative, were never written, and are now beyond our reach.
