Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In the Vim Nuow we behold a wonderful picture of that early love which was the inspira tion of the poet's youth, the regenerative principle of his manhood, and, finally, the beacon which guided his course to the desired haven. From the Conm'to, of which but a fraction was ever written, we learn what were the studies of Dante's maturity, gaining, at the same time, a compendious view of the systems accepted in his day concerning things material and spiritual. In the same work, one book is devoted to an eloquent and passionate exposition of what, in the author's view.
