D. F. Lemmon Ancient Capital of the State of Indiana

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. In conformity with a joint resolution of both Houses of the General Assembly of the Territory, Acting Governor Gibson prorogued them to meet at Corydon on the first day of Decem ber, 1813. Corydon remained the Territorial and State Capi tal of Indiana, from that date until the tenth day of January, 1825, when it was removed to Indianapolis. The population of this ancient town is near one thousand, which is not much greater than it was while it was the Capital of the State.
