Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. All news emanated from the tavern, the town meeting and the town council here assembled, the courts met in solemn dig mity, the traveller full of news from his last stopping place was sometimes here found, and notices for the information of the townsmen were posted on the tavern door. At Medford it was voted that their names posted on the several tavern doors shall be a sufficient notice for jurors.
