Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Have been made in the form of its production, the principal being that it has been thought advisable, firstly, to modernise the spelling of the manuscripts (except as regards place names, which are given as in the original, but with the modern name within brackets), and, secondly, to refrain from any attempt at annotation, the introduction and glossary having rendered the latter unnecessary.
