Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. IN preparing the following history, it has been found necessary to omit all mention of some important subjects; but it is hoped that no gap has been left which will not be filled up in other volumes of this series. Thus a fuller account of doctrine will be found in Early Christian Doctrine, the origin of the ministry will be described in The Church, its Ministry and Authority, the formation of the New Testament in An Introduction to the New Testament.
