Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The following exercises have been proved to be practical by several years' use with classes of sixty to a hundred, handled in divisions of about fifteen, working two hours a week during the academic year.
